Can be used if the screws do not restrict the normal expansion and contraction movement of the panel on the wall.
The wood is not sitting in a moist or wet condition so it is not wicking moisture.
The bottom of the starter strip the part the bottom panel hooks on to should be at least 1 in.
The recommended width of step flashings will vary depending on the agency entity being referenced.
If your grade is level with the siding install a drip edge level with the mulch.
This results in a 2 inch minimum head lap.
The further the better.
Leave a 1 2 gap from the top of the edging to keep mulch from touching the siding.
That would vary with the installation but siding should pretty much never finish at the patio surface there should always be a gap and that will vary from 2 6 depending on the type of patio materials.
Install the drip edge one foot from the siding when controlling a grade and a little outside the drip line of a home when controlling splashing water.
2 63 5mm minimum for going through siding with backerboard.
Below the top of the foundation but the lower the vinyl siding is installed the better.
Would have been nice to show the proper way to finish siding down to a patio.
Hardie siding requires a minimum 2 gap from all hard surfaces like decks or rooflines and at least 8 from any soft surfaces like grass dirt or gravel.
Measure the bottom piece of siding to the proper length which is the length of the wall to the roof line minus 2 inches.
2 50 8mm for residing.
When it is higher from the ground splashing water onto the wood is minimized.
Wood siding should be 4 or so from the ground whether that be soil or solid surface.
