For the bodies of the costumes i purchased tan felt. I attached a simple foam flower. We even had the pocket in the back for these extra parts and we changed our faces throughout the evening. Potato head for a costume party that we attended for halloween this year.

Each detachable piece had a front and back i sewed around the edges completely then sliced a small hole on one of the panels turned the piece. The hats were the trickiest. The hat can really be any type of black hat. I then used a t shirt of mine and his to use as a pattern to mark where the neck area and arm holes would go and then made the rest into a potato shape.
